I passed the written, and really without a lot of difficulty (or so I thought, I only got an 82 out of 100%). Anyway, I felt very prepared, in large part due to Jean and CCBOOTCAMP. I had the most positive training experience of my career with the Written Bootcamp. All the guys were at similar skill level, and Jean was always willing to take a moment and elaborate on topics. I really learned a lot about MPLS and IGPs, which I know will help me in my lab endeavors.

Thanks again, you guys are the best.

It had been a year since my last attempt and the CCBOTOCAMP CCIE Routing and Switching Advanced Lab Boot Camp was the perfect class to refresh my mind, clear up some things, and improve my weak areas. David Clark is an excellent instructor who has a great teaching style, can answer all questions and is willing to go that extra mile to help out the students in the class. I passed the R&S Lab December 4th in San Jose, #22887. I will be looking CCBOOTCAMP's way when I’m ready to start heading down the Security path.

Thanks for the class!

I took the CCIE Routing and Switching Written Exam on Dec 8th 2008 and passed with flying colors, 86%!! I honestly don’t believe I could have passed the test without taking the CCBOOTCAMP CCIE Routing and Switching Written Boot Camp. Many of the topics being tested on currently I don’t get exposed to in day to day work. Getting a full understanding of things like IPv6, QoS, and multicasting is what I needed. Taking this class was the best investment I could have made. Thanks guys!"

I passed the CCIE Routing and Switching Lab on November 25, 2008 thanks to CCBOOTCAMP. I want to thank instructors David Clark and Keith Barker for their knowledge and support and especially to David for the one-on-one mentoring. I also want to thank Dawn Reis and Scott and all the other personnel at CCBOOTCAMP. I attended all four bootcamps and look forward to using CCBOOTCAMP for my next CCIE adventure. I was impressed by the level of knowledge and real world experience displayed by the instructor (David Clark) during the CCIE Routing and Switching Advanced Lab Boot Camp. It is definitely advantageous compared to "Theory Instructors" only. He is very professional and accommodating for all levels of students. I would definitely attend another CCBOOTCAMP course for future expert level Cisco Certifications.

I completed the CCIE Security Lab on my first attempt using CCBOOTCAMP. The workbooks and classes are well matched with the lab. Keith Barker (CCIE Routing and Switching, Security) is an excellent instructor who takes the extra time to work with students and ensure they are ready. Keith put in several 16 hour days with our group. The CCIE end-to-end training program offered at CCBOOTCAMP is exactly what you need to pass.

Brad and Dawn,

I wanted to take a moment and compliment Keith Barker for the CCIE Security Advanced Lab Boot Camp class in Raleigh, NC last week. I have been taking IT courses since 1990, and Keith is one of the best instructors that I have ever had. Keith did an excellent job of ensuring we understood each topic, and all of our questions were answered, before moving on to the next topic. Keith also made himself available before and after class throughout the week for one-on-one mentoring.

Thanks to CCBOOTCAMP and especially, Keith Barker for a great class.

Course: CCDE Written

This was the first class that I have taken with CCBOOTCAMP, in fact the first boot camp that Bradvica I have ever attended. I am now looking forward on attending another based on my week in Henderson, NV. The facilities are excellent and instructors are knowledgeable, encouraging and engaging.  Their training materials thoroughly covered all the exam blueprint topics and the time spent in class plus the additional reading materials provided prepared me to pass the CCDE written.  My experience here was so good that at the end of the week I signed one of my staff up for their “CCIE Security – 1, 2, 3 Package”. It was a great experience and I whole heartily recommend CCBOOTCAMP when the conversation turns to Cisco certification training.

Regarding CCBOOTCAMP and your CCNA Boot Camp. I would like to say my instructor was invaluable in the methods and examples used in class. He was very thorough and, while knowledge of the product is irreplaceable, he has the ability to open your eyes to the thing that you must master in order to pass the CCNA exam. I’d say the instruction was the best I’ve ever received.

Also, the entire CCBOOTCAMP staff from Sales to Administration are a first rate example of true customer service.

This class is as advertised!  By the end of the week I was well prepared for the CCIE Routing and Switching Exam.  The proof is in the results.  I passed and I am now on to studying for the CCIE Routing and Switching Lab Exam.  I’m sure the foundation gathered from this course will assist me in getting the results I’m looking for; the CCIE Routing and Switching Certification.

I had never attended any CCBOOTCAMP courses in the past so I was a bit apprehensive going to a course that I was not familiar with the company.  However, CCBOOTCAMP did a great job with the registration and course content!  Of further note, the instructor did a great job teaching, explaining and helping with any problems or issues.  His technical background and experience brings huge credit to his instruction and to CCBOOTCAMP.  His work with CCBOOTCAMP is to be commended!  Great job!

Well, I did pass my CCIE Security exam last week, so I am now double CCIE certified (and, as I joked with my colleagues, perhaps doubly certifiable for attempting it). Thanks so much to my excellent instructor, coach, and friend. Thanks also to DawnT, Brad, DawnR, Scott, Michelle, and all the other support personnel who make CCBOOTCAMP hum. Continued good luck and success, everyone!

Our instructor earned our trust and respect the first day with telling us about his background while we shared our experience level with him.  CCBOOTCAMP provided pre-class workbooks that covered the material and prepared us for what to expect in the class.  This is the first Cisco class that I have taken where I was given pre-study material.  The course material was laid out methodically and logically for the students to relate the material to our level of skill.  Needless to say, I was very impressed over all with the training class, instructor, and material presented.  I was made a believer in CCBOOTCAMP’s training material and presentation after attending the CCNA boot camp.  I am forever indebted to our instructor.

Hi Brad and Dawn,

It was great to see you in NYC yesterday. I wanted to let you know how great the CCIE Routing and Switching Written Boot Camp was. I passed the new version 3 of the test on my first attempt. I was initially a little skeptical of taking this class online because it is such a heavily lecture based class but I am extremely happy I did. The instructor did a great job of keeping me involved and the online system was easy to use. I felt involved and was easily able to ask questions and have them answered in a timely manner. Thanks again. I look forward to taking the CCIE R&S Advanced Lab Boot Camp next year and getting my number.

Brad, your staff is excellent. Dawn, Michelle, Scott, and Tony are great. I registered for the class a week ahead time and took it online so I know there were extra challenges involved so I appreciate their efforts.

Thanks again,
Wayne Horner

I attended CCBOOTCAMP in order to receive my CCNA certification. I could have ordered many of the available practice test banks and surely passed the test via study of this material, but I wanted to be more than a "paper CCNA". I was originally apprehensive about investing in the boot camp; as I thought it would only prepare me to pass the exam, yet give me no practical knowledge on configuring Cisco routers and switches. Fortunately, I discovered my apprehension was unfounded.

After attending the CCNA course, not only did I pass the exam with a score of 987 out of 1000, but I also left with the confidence that I could build an entire network with Cisco equipment. The labs presented by our instructor, while completed relatively quickly, provided enough knowledge for complete practical application in the "real world".

One of the things I appreciated most from the lab experience was that our instructor did not have everything set up as laid out in the Cisco ICND lab book at the start of the lab. Instead, he walked us through configuring the base environment ourselves before completing the lab. The result was complete knowledge in setting up network configurations, rather than a base knowledge in how to configure just a certain feature that was available (like EIGRP Routing Protocol). When we conducted the EIGRP lab, rather than a quick configuration of EIGRP over network interfaces that had already been configured for the lab, we configured the network interfaces, and router/switch connections from the ground up, then configured EIGRP to route over these interfaces. Practice in doing this for almost every lab helped to permanently etch the knowledge into memory.

There is an old saying: "Give a person a fish and he/she will eat for one day. Teach that person how to fish, and he/she will eat for a lifetime." Our instructor definitely "taught us how to fish" rather than just "giving us a fish". Sure, it was more difficult, but I can state with absolute certainty that I am not just a "paper CCNA". With the plentiful Cisco racks maintained by CCBOOTCAMP, we were never wanting for Cisco equipment on which to practice. The feeling that I can now confidently configure Cisco Routers and Switches in a real world environment exemplifies the value provided by attending this boot camp.

I highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about learning how to configure a Cisco Network.

I would like to take a moment and thank the hard work and effort that was placed into my course taken at CCBOOTCAMP and give them congrats that are well appreciated and deserved. After working 20 hour days, leading troop movements, and always needing to keep an edge above the current time, I have learned that civilian life and the commercial market can be even more challenging than this and if you don't have the ability to stand out, you are EXPIRED. Based on market and industry requirements, I was required to gain a cutting edge in the industry and show a rank above the thousands of others competing in a battle for the same position and job. On that note, with a special thanks to the approach and knowledge of CCBOOTCAMP, I was able to not only pass and gain my CCVP, but I learned real world applicable knowledge that I now use everyday to impress my employer and create a satisfied customer, which gives me a victory that is much needed in today's ever competing market.

Hi Dawn!

I'm not sure whom to go to express my appreciation for everyone's support especially you and Scott!

As you might recall, I sent you an email about two weeks ago about not being able to book rack time on Fridays for the month of August and September. You immediately forwarded it to Scott. Scott has been actively trying and able to allocate Friday sessions for me. He is also excellent in following-up and keeping me informed. I had initial logon difficulty last Friday morning and Scott emailed and called me back 5 minutes after I submitted a help request. Excellent support!!

I bought and used the CCIE Routing and Switching Advanced Lab Workbook in 2000 for my lab and was very happy with it. I'm very impressed to see that CCBOOTCAMP has not only kept the quality but moved up a notch!

Thanks so much again!

Class was awesome! One of the best training sessions that I have ever attended (I have been to 70+ in my career). Our instructor was the best. His knowledge level, preparation and patience were well appreciated. I left feeling that I got my money's worth... and then some. In addition, everything was top-notch; from the instructor, the training center, the classroom, the equipment, the hotel and all the directions for food and shopping in the area. I could tell that everything was well thought out and pre-arranged to make the student comfortable.

See you next month!

Brad,
I wanted to thank you for the invaluable training that fully prepared me for the CCIE Routing and Switching Lab Exam. After reading the exam, there was literally nothing that surprised me. I was able to methodically develop and execute a plan of attack. This was in sharp contrast to my first two attempts. The CCIE Routing and Switching Lab Boot Camp literally gave me the additional confidence I needed. I think that diving deep into each subject rather than a series of super labs is what sets you apart from the competition.

Just got my CCIE number today!!! #14589 A lot of the things we covered in class really helped with my preparation for the lab. The test strategies suggested also helped me a lot. Such as reviewing and checking the results at 2 PM, and then come back and solve the few difficult questions. And the effective utilization of the lunch break to think through the questions. I also run into situations where I had to give up on a couple questions that I knew I had only 80% of chances of getting the points, but may screw up other parts of the config. So I decided to give those points up to preserve the points I am 100% sure.

I passed my Lab Exam on August 13th!! For studying, I used the R&S Lab Subscription with my lab at home, countless number of books, and the DOC CD. On August 9th, I took a Mock Lab from Network Learning and failed. I received my [Network Learning R&S] Lab Companion Guide about three weeks ago for Labs 1 to 10. Since using the Companion Guide I have learned by leaps and bounds. This product is nothing less than AWESOME. In the last three weeks my learning, relating to high level routing issues, has increased in a huge way. I was thinking that if I could run through my CCNP® Labs that I was in pretty good shape. I started working through the Network Learning Labs and was quickly overwhelmed. I contacted John Kaberna and he suggested the Lab Companion Guide. I tried it, and I love it!! The Guide is not just the solutions, the solutions you already get with your Lab subscription. The Lab Companion is a step-by-step how-to guide that teaches you why and how to get to a solution. It is full of typical "gotchas" to look out for and things to keep an eye on. I am totally impressed with the the Companion Guide and my only complaint is the next volume is not yet ready. Did I say that this product is AWESOME! Many thanks to the writers and all that were involved, this is going to be instrumental to me passing the Lab and understanding the topics for everyday life. Now, let's get the next volume finished!

Hello!
Just wanted to let you know that I took my CCIE® Lab exam on Tuesday May 13th and passed! My company and I are very happy. The 3 labs we did during the R&S boot camp as well as all the material, slides and the tips, (also Lab # 27), were very helpful to pass the exam. Thank you.

I will be recommending your boot camp and material to my colleagues!!

Best regards,

I passed my CCIE® Lab Exam yesterday at my first attempt and got my number, CCIE® #11285. I would like to say that your CCIE® R&S Lab Workbook was so good. It helped me a lot in my preparation and I could not pass the exam at the first time without this book. Thank you very much and give me the information about your CCIE® Communication & Services Lab Workbook. It's because my next goal is CCIE® C&S.

Kindly regards,

Hello all... I apologize for the late notification, but the last several weeks have been BUSY! I passed the CCIE® R&S lab March 5th (2nd Attempt). I know that the Lab Subscription, Lab Rental, and especially the boot camp class were instrumental in helping me to achieve this.

I hope all of you, that I haven't heard from, have passed yours as well! If not, good luck and hang in there. The relief alone is worth it!

I just wanted to say Thank You to you all! Maybe I'll see you all again soon... I'm already making preparations to take the Security CCIE® exam this time next year. Scott, do you teach the Network Learning Security course?

Thank You Again,

Brad,

Good news, I passed my lab Thursday in San Jose. My CCIE® #11168. I can honestly say there is no better feeling passing on my first attempt. Your labs are a great resource and I thank you for all of the help with questions and the hardware. I couldn't have done it without you. I'm debating security IE right now but I am wore out and need a break. If I decide to go this track, you will be the 1st person I contact. Please let Marc and Karl know I appreciate all of there help too. You guys are awesome. Let me know if I can ever do anything for you or Network Learning. Thanks!!!

Hi all,

Finally is my turn to say "I got it !" ;-)))

I made it on last 17th Feb.. in San Paolo.

After the lab I flew to Rio trying to forget about my score, but it was a long night until in a public Internet-point I got the "pass" .... and wow !!!,capering and enjoy carne val !!! wonderful vacation: sun, samba and CCIE® # in my pocket

Thanks a lot for valuable knowledge I got during lab exercise. May be I will start with security track ...

Hey Marc and John,

I appreciate your training and lab access. Two folks at my lab attempt had used your material and all of them had heard of it.

It's good stuff. I wish you guys the best, and thanks again for your excellent labs and boot camp.

Hello Marc and Karlynn,

This is Faisal Khan, who attended the R/S boot camp on Jan. 13-17. Remember me. Well I have passed the exam thanks to your help. Thank you so much for holding such boot camp as it was priceless for me on Jan. 20 when I wrote the exam. I missed 1 hour of my exam since they changed the time from 9:00 AM in the morning to 7:30 AM in the morning and I didn't care to notice that on the web site. While I am being in panic mood since I lost 1 hour, my hands were shaking.

However, there are few things that I have learned through the boot camp like test taking strategy, some tips here and there. I passed the exam. It was my 3rd attempt when I passed.

Thank you once again.

'To all CCIE® Candidate!

Had I not taking this boot camp prior to my exam, I probably wouldn't passed. On Jan. 13 - 17, I was in the boot camp taking R/S with Scott Morris. Amazing instructor who not only knows his stuff but was excellent in explaining topics as well as giving tips. With Scott's vest set of knowledge and Marc Russell's amazing lab environment, you will learn things that you can't anywhere else. I was schedule for my exam on Jan. 20, two days after my boot camp. So I knew I don't have much time, with this boot camp, I learnt some amazing and simple test taking strategy that absolutely helped me on Jan. 20 otherwise I was guaranteed to fail. I only had 6.5 hours to write my exam since I missed 1 hour, I follow what Scott taught me in the boot camp, and I made it the next day. Thanks to all of you guys at Network Learning for all the help that you gave me. I will definitely attend the next boot camp (security). Even though this training cost me over $4000 US dollar, but it is definitely priceless even if you can pay via Master Card.'

Hi, just wanted to let you know that I passed the R&S lab exam on my first try - Dec 9, 2002. My main training materials were the NLI labs and well-known books (Caslow, Halabi, Jeff Doyle, ...) I don't think I could have passed the exam without the NLI labs. Thank you and keep it up.

Hey Marc and Brad and Mr Solie,

Just to thank you for the Network Learning material and also for PSV - both an absolute must.

As you can see I returned from Brussels late last night and received that coveted email this morning. I managed to complete all but one question and had time spare to check my work ! I thoroughly recommend the Network Learning prep kit -If anything IT MAKES YOU THINK ! Albeit the 3rd attempt I have to say to all those " CCIE® is it worth it " posts - ABSOLUTELY -the amazing feeling you get when you receive that email and the look on your wife & daughter's faces says it all.

Many thanks to all the contributors to "www.routerie.com" and best of luck to all the other candidates out there.

I just wanted to let you know that I passed the lab in RTP today. Your lab scenarios and online rack were very helpful. I rented ten days of rack time before my first attempt in June where I failed by a small margin and then I rented ten days again right before my second attempt which I passed today.

Thanks,

I highly recommend the Network Learning boot camp class. It helped me broaden my knowledge and gain the speed needed to achieve a passing score on the Lab Exam. The class environment was intense and 12 hour days were common. The focus was on practice, practice and more practice. Each participant had their own 'pod' of lab equipment complete with ATM and Voice gear (perfect for those unable to afford these 'luxuries' in their home lab). The instructor was quite knowledgeable and did an excellent job covering the wide range of topics. Taking this class will help you hone your skills and pass the CCIE® Lab Exam.

Hi Brad,

I also passed my Lab Exam on August 10: I got CCIE® #9903. I had bought labs and I practiced them for almost 45 days. It was very much helpful as it made me to think differently and look at alternatives for resolving different issues.

Thanks a lot for providing such a great material in the labs.

As any CCIE® candidate knows, the more help you can obtain during your quest for this certification the better. I realized this fact early, and ended up contacting Network Learning as a result. Their lab scenarios and technical support are among the best resources available to any potential CCIE® . I highly doubt I would have passed on my first attempt without their labs, and I most certainly would not have achieved success as quickly as I did. A significant reason I decided to go with the lab subscription from Network Learning was from reading testimonials like these. I figured, if all these people with their numbers used Network Learning's labs as a major part of their preparation, how could I go wrong? Believe the hype - you can't go wrong with these labs. To me they were worth every penny.

Marc & Brad,

I have been a R&S subscriber for several years now and had always planned to complete my CCIE® but I never got beyond the preparation stage until the recent economic downturn left me with some extra time on my hands. I was determined to turn a negative into a positive by finally completing the CCIE® Lab. I had the equipment and books to practice on but needed the complex scenarios to help prepare and reduce my apprehension. I turned to Network Learning for assistance. I am happy to report that I did pass last month and your labs played a role in my success, thank you. Keep up the good work and high standards that are key to your continued success.

I just passed in RTP on Thursday the 28th of February. My advice in addition to what has already been said is this, do these labs one time of course, then on the second time you really have to do as many scenarios as possible and get comfortable until you see configs as requirements are being ready for a lab. I finished my initial config at lunch for the test. I reviewed my test for 2 hours exactly. My proctors graded me the same day. My primary material was Network Learning Labs. A great thanks goes to Network Learning, it would have been a much longer road without them.

I recently passed the CCIE® Lab on the third attempt. I would like to thank Network Learning and Brad Ellis, for without them I would not have passed.

Between my 2nd and 3rd attempt I really hit the boot camp Labs hard, and did them until it would only take me a few hours to complete. Dedication and hard work pays off. Read CCO till your eyes bleed, as well as Routing TCP/IP Vol. 1, Halabi, and Caslow.

I'll try and keep this short and sweet, doubtful with my big mouth. Also keep in mind, that this is written based on my experience with the two-day format. Some of it may be obsolete within days.

I passed the R/S Lab last Tuesday in RTP on my first attempt. It was hard, about five times harder than I expected. And I expected it to be pretty difficult. There were 7-8 of us who started Day 1, only two of us even got to go on to Day 2. I was the only one who ended up passing. I didn't blow it out of the water, I made some stupid mistakes that cost me probably about 5-7 points. The proctors, Howard and Rob, were great. No issues at all, very professional, knowledgeable, and relaxed. The facility at RTP is fantastic as well.

So, my recommendations/keys to success:

- Give up any type of social life. Unless you want to drag your preparation out over a year+, which I DO NOT recommend, your life needs to be devoted to studying. I started this whole process in mid-April, reviewing for the Written Exam. So start-to-finish, ~5 months of hardcore preparation. But I work best that way.

- Have a lot of real-world experience. Doesn't mean you have to be a Sr. Backbone Engineer at AT&T or something similar, but you better have built several networks (10+) in your lifetime. I've been working in networking for about 8 years.

- Books: Doyle Vol. I, Cisco® LAN Switching, Halabi, Caslow, Enhanced IP Services, BGP-4 Command Handbook, Hutnik/Satterlee, BSCN, BCRAN. This list could go on forever, but these are the main ones I used.

- Lab TIME!!! I cannot stress this point enough. You have got to become perfect at the "basics." Meaning, you better be able to get 90% of your network running in 50% of the time allotted. Because the other 10% of configuration will take a while. During my R/S Lab preparation, I used Network Learning's Practice Labs - they were invaluable. There is no way I could've passed without them. Simply because they provided a whole other set of networks to configure, in addition to ones I've done in my job(s).

I did each of them five times, so I could become perfect and fast at configuration. Including the Network Learning Labs, I probably had configured 35+ networks going into the Lab Exam. I also took their 5-day boot camp class, which was great. Again, the more hands-on time you have the better. You really can't do too much in this area.

- You must invest in a home Lab, no way around it. Having access to an entire rack of non-Production equipment 24x7 is fantastic and necessary. I rented rack-time with Network Learning for the ATM and 3920 practice. I also worked on Bernard Omrani's 3920 scenario.

- Doc CD. I only used this for one thing, so I would say just be familiar with it. You don't need to read everything on it, give me a break. That would take forever.

Well, I guess that's it. As usual, I rambled a bit too much. I also probably didn't provide too much new information. But I think these little celebratory emails are a good break from studying. At least they always were for me.

Godspeed,
Mike Dongvillo, CCIE® #8187

The Security Lab subscription from Network Learning provides you with challenging scenarios that contain all of the various technologies that will be tested on in the lab, such as AAA, IPsec, CBAC, IDS, PIX Firewall, etc. As many of you know, Network Learning is the first name in practice labs for the CCIE® R&S Exam, the same can be said here. Marc,

Thanks to your Labs, I just passed the CCIE® R/S Lab in San Jose. It wasn't a walk-away win, but I passed.

Almost everything that tripped me up was in your Labs. Had I done all the Labs repeatedly, instead of just Labs 8 a&b I think I would have passed more easily. I did study all the Labs, but the lack of hand-on practice hurt me.

Overall, I found the problems in your Labs, individually, to be harder than the real thing. In retrospect, however, I found the shear volume of problems in a high pressure situation in an unfamiliar environment, to be the most daunting element. There was no time to do any real checking or debugging.

Again, thanks, I am sure that without your Labs, I would be booking another trip back to San Jose.

Hi Marc,

I passed CCIE® Lab Exam at my first attempt on the 4th of December 2000; the secret to succeed in this challenge is to work hardly: in the last five weeks before the Exam I practiced every day (Saturday and Sunday included), even for 12 hours a day going through ALL your practical Labs and I deepened all the themes I had not good feeling with looking for manual pages, hints and practical examples on Cisco® site. I remembered to thanks you for your powerful package of practical Labs when some days ago a friend of mine preparing for the CCIE® Lab Exam asked me for some suggestion: the only answer I could give him was to purchase your material and to go through all the Labs at least once, because if you will be able to face with such a huge amount of work and useful hints, nothing can be "surprising" at the real Lab Exam.

Marc,

Just a short e-mail to let you know that I passed the CCIE® Routing and Switching Lab Exam in Brussels on Friday Oct 13th, and was awarded CCIE® no. 6306. This was my 3rd attempt at the Lab, having made it to the trouble-shooting section on both my previous attempts (both times with a score of 55 - so I required a perfect score on the trouble-shooting - which I didn't get !). I managed to get a cancellation for my 3rd attempt and this time I concentrated on completing your Practice Labs. Due to the time-scale, I only managed to complete the first 10 Practice Labs and also some scenarios that I remembered from my previous attempts. Your Practice Labs proved to be very challenging and in some areas more difficult than the actual Lab itself. They gave me a thorough understanding of what was required and also helped considerably with increasing my speed during the configuration phases of the actual Lab Exam. This time I went into the trouble-shooting phase with a score of 70 so I had made considerable ground on my previous attempts and only required a score of 10 in the trouble-shooting section. I eventually passed with a score of 85. Your Lab scenarios proved to be invaluable during my preparation and I would recommend them to any future CCIE® candidates.

Thanks again,

Hello Marc,

I am happy to tell you that I passed the CCIE® Exam last week ( Oct 10th ) here in India. This was my second attempt. I had purchased boot camp Labs 1-14. They were very useful especially the OSPF, BGP and ATM Labs. The scenarios in your Labs were quite complex and similar to those that one can expect in the CCIE® Lab Exam. The document on 'troubleshooting' was also useful and I hope you expand that list to include more info. I am sure every CCIE® candidate will find the boot camp Labs useful for preparation and I would recommend them. I also found the information on your Web site such as 'Lab Exam preparation strategy', 'What to expect in the Lab Exam' etc.) was very good and helpful in the CCIE® preparation.

Thanks for all your help.

If you want to pass CCIE® routing and switching test it's going to take practice and more practice. The boot camp Labs give you a look at the material from a different angle. You need this. Marc's Labs are so twisted and off the wall sometimes that they make you think about what is really going on inside the protocol or technology. The Labs made me question things that I have taken for granted for years. They make you dig deeper where you wouldn't think of digging. I struggled with the test for a long time. After purchasing the boot camp Labs and renting some of the ATM gear, I passed on my next attempt.

Thank you Network Learning for providing this service.

It is with great pleasure that I tell everyone on the list that I just became CCIE® #5858 in Brussels this past Wednesday. I also have a novel piece of advice to offer everyone seeking to obtain CCIE® certification in Brussels.

Even though the Lab in Brussels is only about 400 yards from the Holiday Inn at the airport, when you are finished and realize you just passed your Lab, take a cab. I was so lost in the clouds that I was almost run over about three times trying to negotiate the traffic circles during my walk back to the hotel.

But seriously, thank you to everyone out there who helped me in my quest. In the tradition of the list, here are a few details of my road to success:

These are the books I read and recommend in order of preference along with a few comments about how I used them:

#1 Bridges, Routers, and Switches for CCIE® s, Bruce Caslow - Bruce's book provides an overall strategy and synopsis of many key topics. If you master this book, you will be about 60% of the way to success.

#2 Internet Routing Architectures, Sam Halabi - Sam's book provides advance BGP information I simply did not find anywhere else. Don't overlook his paper on the documentation CDs. It can be an invaluable resource during the Lab Exam.

#3 Routing TCP/IP Vol. 1, Jeff Doyle - I did not find too much documentation about ISIS, but Jeff's book helped me out a lot with this protocol. Anytime I had a detailed IP routing protocol question, the answer was in Jeff's book.

#4 All-In-One CCIE® Lab Study Guide, Steven Hutnick - Although this book is by no means an all-in-one guide, it does provide some excellent examples of tertiary topics such as NTP, NAT, HSRP, etc.

One of my top resources was the documentation CD itself. If you want to pass, then you must master the CD and know where to find everything. I would work through it and configure every option at least once. I also read the Catalyst section several times until I understood everything in it. What else helped me?

#1 ECP1, taught by Bruce Caslow at Chesapeake. This class was expensive at $3500, but helped me immensely. I would take it at least two months before your first attempt.

#2 Network Learning - Marc Russell provides two invaluable services. First of all, when I needed time with ATM gear and ISDN, Marc provided that gear for a fair price. I would not have been as comfortable with either of these technologies without the rack time Marc provided. Last, but not least, I purchased Marc's superb Lab scenarios. Bruce Caslow told us in ECP1 that the most difficult aspect of preparing for the Lab was finding excellent Practice Lab scenarios.

Marc's Labs were well worth the $650 and provided this key resource.

Finally, I do not believe you can pass without access to a router Lab of at least six routers including a terminal server, Catalyst 5000, and ISDN simulator. You can learn enough VOIP and ATM without having the equipment by renting some rack time from Marc, but you really need the rest of this equipment to have a good chance.

I just wanted to let everyone know about my positive experience with Marc Russell and Network Learning. I needed some practice with various ISDN backup scenarios and don't have a switch in my Lab, so I called Marc and asked to rent rack 2 for a day. The rack was not in production yet, but Mark worked with me anyways and offered high quality gear at a fair price. No, I don't work with or even know Mark, I am just a happy paying customer, and he is the only one I know who offers ATM gear and a Cat5K at reasonable rates.

Highly recommended!

The Network Learning Labs were very helpful in obtaining my CCIE® certification. Lab 8a and 8b should be completely known inside and out.

Thanks, Marc!

Guys,

I am so glad that it's my turn to post this Thank You note! For the people who still pursuing your CCIE® number, you're in the right place. I have to say this is THE best CCIE® study group in the whole world.

Many CCIE®s have posted valuable suggestion on how to prepare for the Lab Exam in the past, I have a few things to add:

* Archive scenarios - do it yourself Without seeing the answers responded from other people, try to simulate the question in your Lab and find out the solution.

This is a good way to build your confidence!

* CD lookup - how fast can you find it. Locate a topic without using Search. One important note, you may need to lookup among 11.2, 11.3 and 12.0

* Network Learning - an excellent resource for Lab scenarios and equipment rental. Marc's Lab 1-14 includes multi-protocol scenarios, hint, and complete solution...it worth every penny.

Finally, the best part of this group is there's always someone will (or try to) answer your question. Big thanks to these great guys who\par have answered my questions - J. Wu, J Weinstein, A. Mosley, C. Steward, P. Willemsen, A Dean, Jan + Eric, H Rahmlow, D Brown, etc.

Yes I did... Thank you for creating such a great set of Labs. They had me VERY well prepared for the real deal. I thought they were quite a bit harder than my actual Lab. There was nothing on the real Lab that I felt was a surprise or unexpected. Your Practice Labs were a great value, because I didn't have to take the Lab a second time! Thanks for providing such a great service, and keep up the good work!

Marc,

I passed my Lab on my first attempt. Buying all the Labs and renting ATM rack was most definitely one of the best investments I have ever made. I will like to thank you for the superb Labs you have put together. I did every single Lab and did it many times. I found that all the Labs were designed to aggressively enhance the skills required to design as well as troubleshoot various network protocols and legacy connectivity. I timed myself every time I attempted the Network Learning Labs until I was comfortable with my speed and accuracy. Best of all, your Labs forced me to focus and challenge myself with the estimated completion times provided at each step. I had tried other Lab scenarios sold on eBay etc. but none provided the degree of difficulty you can expect at real CCIE® Lab. Look forward to VOIP and Dial CCIE® Labs in the near future.

Best Regards,

Hello All,

I am new to the list and have my first Lab attempt on January 31 at RTP. I have been practicing a lot and have found something that has tremendously helped my studying that I wish to tell you about.

I have purchased at set of 12 multi-protocol CCIE® style Practice Exams from http://www.ccbootcamp.com. The Labs include everything from BGP confederations to ATM LANE.

The cost was $650 and has well been worth it. If you don't have Lab equipment to practice on you can't rent time on their Lab equipment and access it over the internet. Going through these Labs has forced me to learn topics I didn't think I would need to know and has helped me improve my speed.

Lab number 8 is a very-difficult multi-protocol Lab that takes about 24 hours of time to complete. Many have labeled it as the best benchmark for CCIE® success. I am in no way affiliated with the company that makes these Labs. If this practice tool can help you as much as much as it has helped me than I feel it is my duty to tell you about it.

Good Luck to all of you taking the test soon!

Marc,

This week I passed the CCIE® Lab Exam on my first try! In reflecting back on what made my efforts result in success, without a doubt, the Labs from Network Learning top the list. The Labs were a central part of my studying in the few months before my Exam. When taking the Exam, on almost every question I was able to draw on experiences and lessons while studying with the Labs.

Using the Labs was an excellent tool for test preparation. I was able to do the Labs over and over again, and still after every time learn something new. When I repeated the Lab exercises, I would add more complexity each time I did them. And, I would time my myself to make sure I was doing the Labs faster and faster even with the extra complexity. The greatest advantage I had in the actual Exam was SPEED. I finished day 1 three hours early.

Thank you, Network Learning Inc., for an outstanding product!!

Thanks, Marc!

This was my second attempt and the Exam has gotten much harder than my first in October. Your Lab 8 was instrumental in my passing. On both attempts, I spent two weeks prior to the Exam building, breaking down, and rebuilding your Lab which contains 9 routers. This made the real Lab of 6 routers seem a little more manageable. Thanks for all your help!

I just wanted to let you know that I passed my Lab Exam on Monday and Tuesday. In retrospect, Lab 8 was a really good prep. I can't say more than that, of course, but I did get a lot faster working with your Lab than I had been before, to the point that I finished day 1 at 2:44pm. I got to chat with the proctor, triple-check my solutions, and so on. I mentioned your service on groupstudy.com too, so I hope that helps to bring you business.

Thanks for everything, and happy holidays.

Marc,

I did pass my Exam back in December! First try. Couldn't have done it without your Labs.

Thanks!

Thanks for setting up ccBootcamp.com. It is an important part of my study program. It helps me to familiarize with all the "potential" problems that might appear in the actual Labs. This makes me very fast in setting up the entire configuration and I managed to finish day 1 so much earlier than expected.

This is my 2nd attempt. During my first attempt, I managed to squeeze through to the troubleshooting section. But didn't manage to get enough points to pass. However, the same thing happened. I did very well for day 1 as well.

All in all, I practiced the Lab 4 times. Adding more and more things into
