The staff at CCBOOTCAMP were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Twelve days is a long time but they made it go by painlessly. Rohit's hands-on training style is also unbeatable. Not only did it prepare me for my exams, but more importantly prepared me for my job back home. Thanks a million to both CCBOOTCAMP and Rohit!

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank  the CCBOOTCAMP crew for the amazing experience I had these last two weeks.  Going into it, I had mixed feelings about attending a boot camp and had only heard horror stories of them.  I must say that I was amazed to see how CCBOOTCAMP operates!  You took care of everything I needed even while earning my CCNA and CCNA Voice from home.....and then coming in on weekends to make sure I had the opportunity to test when I felt ready.  Greg was a great instructor that could have simply flipped slides, but he went into as much detail as we asked and never hesitated to stop and explain when needed.  I will highly recommend CCBOOTCAMP to anyone looking for a great opportunity to earn a Cisco Certification

CCBOOTCAMP's training is the best that I have attended thus far in my Cisco career. The facility is nice and quiet as well as the area. It is a great place to learn and focus while away from work. My instructor Jeff Ratchford explained everything that we needed to know to succeed . He is the reason I am certified today!
I will definitely be coming back for my CCIE RS training

We found the course to be a great introduction into the theory of network switching which was reinforced by the practical aspects of interacting with the Cisco IOS. Together, our office increased the practical knowledge of modern Ethernet communications which promoted good, standards based network designs and also provided a good basis for troubleshooting communications problems.

Though my experience at other boot camps has been similar in terms of pace and amount of work, CCBOOTCAMP provided a comfortable environment and superior class size for optimal absorption of information required to pass the 350-001. mCOD CCNP -Mobile Course On Demand

I passed the CCNP Route exam this past Thursday!!!

The mCOD course was really great. I was able to learn the concepts faster than reading a book. What really helped was the hard copy course material too. I made notes and hi-lighted what I felt was important while watching/listening to the lectures. In the past, I took other CBT type courses, but they had no printed material so it was difficult take notes and to do any reviews. The combination of a "mobile" lecture and the hard copy materials were awesome.

The labs were good too. I will be starting the Switch course within a week or two.

Overall, great course! I'm glad I found you folks!

What a great experience!  I spent months of preparing/studying beforehand and the CCNA boot camp that I attended was the perfect last step before testing.  My boot camp instructor (Jeff Ratchford) was very knowledgeable on the course material and had a tremendous classroom personality.  I felt that all my questions were addressed thoroughly and the work time each day was efficiently used.  The CCBOOTCAMP staff that helped me plan my experience was wonderful as well.  I traveled to Washington DC from Vermont and along the way I was provided details on transportation, lodging and other travel considerations.  I would recommend CCBOOTCAMP to anyone who wanted to greatly improve their chances of obtaining these coveted Cisco certifications.

Thank you all at CCBOOTCAMP. I went through both your CCIE Voice Written and Lab preparatory classes and found them to be the most important component of my study regime. The written instructor did an outstanding job walking us through all of the voice technologies associated with Cisco's VoIP product suite. He was available night and day during the class as well as very responsive once I completed the course and passed the written. Your Lab instructor is extremely knowledgeable on the subject and transitioned very nicely to the new Lab format. He also, was available during and after the classes, and very responsive as well as truly interested in his student’s success. I had many follow-up questions that Chris Fortner was prompt to respond to. Thank you again and will be returning when it is time to add another certification to my career. Job well done and continued success.

After the CCSP, I learned using CCBOOTCAMP Workbooks, which have clear structure and help to practice almost all topics that are required at the exam. With the CCBOOTCAMP CCIE Security Advanced Lab Workbooks, the new book from Yusuf and the configuration guides from Cisco, it was possible for me to pass the exam in the first attempt.
The CCIE Security Advanced Lab Workbook shows some hints and features that are very helpful on the exam. Not knowing them would generate difficulties at the exam.

Thank you Chris Fortner and the entire CCBOOTCAMP family! Wednesday I went up to Cisco’s headquarters in San Jose and successfully completed the CCIE Voice Lab. Last night I nervously checked my score report and found that I had passed. I really appreciate all the preparation and guidance from CCBOOTCAMP. I couldn't have done it without you guys. Oh and thanks Brad for making the investment in the new Phones and Lab gear for the 3.0 Voice Lab. It really made a world of difference.

Thanks to CCBOOTCAMP I was able to prepare for the CCNA exam in less than two weeks, and pass with ease.  The simulation questions I encountered on the exam were almost identical to those we performed numerous times in the boot camp labs.  The intense focus on subnetting during the course paid large dividends during the exam, and has been extremely helpful to my career.

Jeff Ratchford was a great instructor and was a key element in passing my CCNP. Coming from very little Cisco experience I was able to take and pass each exam with a very good understanding of the material. I was thinking about my overall study plan and the role that CCBOOTCAMP played. I feel that I would not have passed on my first attempt without using the tools and knowledge that CCBOOTCAMP provided me initially.  I would highly recommend CCBOOTCAMP to anyone serious about not only passing the test but wanting to understand the underlying technology.

I am very happy with the CCIE Security Written Boot Camp I attended for my CCIE Security written test which I passed with a 937. CCBOOTCAMP went beyond the material that is on the written test giving me helpful information which I will need in my preparation to take the Security v3.0 lab. I plan to come back for your CCIE Security Advanced Lab Boot Camp when I am ready. My instructor Steve was very knowledgeable; his presentation of the course helped me to thoroughly understand the material on the written test. I also was pleased that I was able to take the class while in my office at home. Overall a great experience and I would recommend CCBOOTCAMP to anyone who wants to get their CCIE.

CCBOOTCAMP was instrumental in helping me obtain my CCIE certification. The CCIE Routing and Switching Advanced Lab Boot Camp class is in-depth and covers the topics needed to pass the lab. Anyone who is serious about obtaining a CCIE certification should consider CCBOOTCAMP. My company has sent many employees to CCBOOTCAMP and all have achieved success from R&S, Security, VoIP, etc. After attending my CCIE Routing and Switching Advanced Lab Boot Camp, I had the tools necessary to pass the CCIE Lab with flying colors. My instructor David Clark was excellent. He helped me brush up on areas I thought I was already comfortable with, and master the areas of weakness. He even contacted me on multiple occasions after the class to check in to see how I was doing, and if he could continue to help with my studies. I was thrilled to know I had a teacher and mentor even after the class had ended. Thanks to David Clark, along with all the other staff members, my experience with CCBOOTCAMP was fantastic, and I look forward to attending other CCBOOTCAMP programs in the near future.

Purchasing the CCBOOTCAMP CCIE Routing and Switching 1-2-3 package was the best decision I made. The 35 practice labs combined with the Advanced Lab Boot Camp thoroughly prepared me for the lab exam. There wasn't a single section on the lab exam that I hadn't configured before at least once, if not many times. The detailed practice labs and review you receive in the Advanced Lab Boot Camp is the perfect thing to do right before taking your lab exam. If you complete all of the practice labs and attend the Advanced Lab Boot Camp, you can feel very confident that you will pass the CCIE lab exam.

Thank you!

I would like to thank everyone at CCBOOTCAMP for helping me to obtain my CCIE certification. I took your CCIE Routing and Switching Advanced Lab Boot Camp in Newark, NJ, and it totally prepared me for the rigorous lab exam. First, the pre-bootcamp workbooks were awesome. They provide very detailed solutions, and cover every topic that one could expect on the actual lab. As for the bootcamp itself, it was a very intense 5 day course which was exactly the push I needed to pass the lab. Enough can’t be said about the instructor, David Clark. David is an extremely experienced instructor, who was totally dedicated to his students throughout the 5 day course. He was at the training facility early every day, and stayed until the last student was ready to leave, usually after 8 or 9 PM each night. Even after the course was complete, David continued to answer all of my e-mails with any questions that came up during my studies. A week before my lab, David gave me a mentoring session over the phone as a final preparation for the lab. It’s this type of dedication to its’ students that makes a training facility unique. I totally recommend CCBOOTCAMP to anyone who is preparing for any certification. Thanks for everything.

CCBOOTCAMP completed a large piece of the CCIE Voice Lab Puzzle for me. The CCIE Voice Lab Workbooks are extensive and really hit all of the major technologies on the lab.

I was really impressed with the online racks. I used a 2821 router to connect to the racks via EZvpn. I had several phones connected to the switch module on the router.

Connecting to the remote racks with EzVPN allowed me to have a real functional lab at home.

I also attended a boot camp with instructor Morgan Stepp. Morgan is a great teacher, he gave some invaluable advice. Morgan asked us to keep a journal of lab hours.

Keeping honest with myself regarding lab hours was one of the key factors that helped me pass the Lab Exam.

I am grateful to CCBOOTCAMP for providing an opportunity to meet other CCIE Voice Candidates during the boot camp. There is a part of the journey that only other candidates can relate to.

Lastly, the www.voiceie.com forum is a great resource for knowledge and validation.

All the best to CCBOOTCAMP and the CCIE Candidates

CCBOOTCAMP,

Anyone that attempts to get their CCIE number will know that it is indeed a journey and in most cases a very lonely one. My instructor David Clark helped give me the tools that I needed to go the distance. Even after I attended the Advanced R&S class he was accessible to me. He emailed me several times to make sure that I knew that if I needed anything he would help. The CCIE is a colossal undertaking and no one can do all the studying or take the test for you. CCBOOTCAMP wasn’t just a boot camp that gave you all the answers. It taught me how to study and presented the material in a way that helped me really learn what I needed which made all the difference. Thank you CCBOOTCAMP and David Clark for all of your support on my journey.

I attended the CCIE Voice Advanced Lab Boot Camp with CCBOOTCAMP in December 2008. The class had 6 experienced professionals preparing for the exam. The class was conducted by a CCBOOTCAMP Voice Instructor with years of experience on large scale IPT projects.

The class was a combination of lab exercises and lectures. The instructor discussed the topics in detail. He provided information on how to focus and prepare our self from the exam point of view. Advanced topics like Gatekeeper, QoS, IPMA, and High availability features were given special attention. We tested out complex scenarios in the lab and also discussed the concepts and solutions.
The training material was well organized and covered all topics well. The lab was well equipped having an individual pod for each candidate. Technology notes presented in the training helped me overcome my weak areas. Now I am all set for the exam. I would like to come here again for for more trainings.

Course: CCDE Written

This was the first class that I have taken with CCBOOTCAMP, in fact the first boot camp that Bradvica I have ever attended. I am now looking forward on attending another based on my week in Henderson, NV. The facilities are excellent and instructors are knowledgeable, encouraging and engaging.  Their training materials thoroughly covered all the exam blueprint topics and the time spent in class plus the additional reading materials provided prepared me to pass the CCDE written.  My experience here was so good that at the end of the week I signed one of my staff up for their “CCIE Security – 1, 2, 3 Package”. It was a great experience and I whole heartily recommend CCBOOTCAMP when the conversation turns to Cisco certification training.

Regarding CCBOOTCAMP and your CCNA Boot Camp. I would like to say my instructor was invaluable in the methods and examples used in class. Our instructor earned our trust and respect the first day with telling us about his background while we shared our experience level with him.  CCBOOTCAMP provided pre-class workbooks that covered the material and prepared us for what to expect in the class.  This is the first Cisco class that I have taken where I was given pre-study material.  The course material was laid out methodically and logically for the students to relate the material to our level of skill.  Needless to say, I was very impressed over all with the training class, instructor, and material presented.  I was made a believer in CCBOOTCAMP’s training material and presentation after attending the CCNA boot camp.  I am forever indebted to our instructor.

Hi Brad and Dawn,

It was great to see you in NYC yesterday. I wanted to let you know how great the CCIE Routing and Switching Written Boot Camp was. I passed the new version 3 of the test on my first attempt. I was initially a little skeptical of taking this class online because it is such a heavily lecture based class but I am extremely happy I did. The instructor did a great job of keeping me involved and the online system was easy to use. I felt involved and was easily able to ask questions and have them answered in a timely manner. Thanks again. I look forward to taking the CCIE R&S Advanced Lab Boot Camp next year and getting my number.

Brad, your staff is excellent. Dawn, Michelle, Scott, and Tony are great. I registered for the class a week ahead time and took it online so I know there were extra challenges involved so I appreciate their efforts.

Thanks again,

I attended CCBOOTCAMP in order to receive my CCNA certification. I could have ordered many of the available practice test banks and surely passed the test via study of this material, but I wanted to be more than a "paper CCNA". I was originally apprehensive about investing in the boot camp; as I thought it would only prepare me to pass the exam, yet give me no practical knowledge on configuring Cisco routers and switches. Fortunately, I discovered my apprehension was unfounded.

After attending the CCNA course, not only did I pass the exam with a score of 987 out of 1000, but I also left with the confidence that I could build an entire network with Cisco equipment. The labs presented by our instructor, while completed relatively quickly, provided enough knowledge for complete practical application in the "real world".

One of the things I appreciated most from the lab experience was that our instructor did not have everything set up as laid out in the Cisco ICND lab book at the start of the lab. Instead, he walked us through configuring the base environment ourselves before completing the lab. The result was complete knowledge in setting up network configurations, rather than a base knowledge in how to configure just a certain feature that was available (like EIGRP Routing Protocol). When we conducted the EIGRP lab, rather than a quick configuration of EIGRP over network interfaces that had already been configured for the lab, we configured the network interfaces, and router/switch connections from the ground up, then configured EIGRP to route over these interfaces. Practice in doing this for almost every lab helped to permanently etch the knowledge into memory.

There is an old saying: "Give a person a fish and he/she will eat for one day. Teach that person how to fish, and he/she will eat for a lifetime." Our instructor definitely "taught us how to fish" rather than just "giving us a fish". Sure, it was more difficult, but I can state with absolute certainty that I am not just a "paper CCNA". With the plentiful Cisco racks maintained by CCBOOTCAMP, we were never wanting for Cisco equipment on which to practice. The feeling that I can now confidently configure Cisco Routers and Switches in a real world environment exemplifies the value provided by attending this boot camp.

I highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about learning how to configure a Cisco Network.

I would like to take a moment and thank the hard work and effort that was placed into my course taken at CCBOOTCAMP and give them congrats that are well appreciated and deserved. After working 20 hour days, leading troop movements, and always needing to keep an edge above the current time, I have learned that civilian life and the commercial market can be even more challenging than this and if you don't have the ability to stand out, you are EXPIRED. Based on market and industry requirements, I was required to gain a cutting edge in the industry and show a rank above the thousands of others competing in a battle for the same position and job. On that note, with a special thanks to the approach and knowledge of CCBOOTCAMP, I was able to not only pass and gain my CCVP, but I learned real world applicable knowledge that I now use everyday to impress my employer and create a satisfied customer, which gives me a victory that is much needed in today's ever competing market.

Hi Dawn!

I'm not sure whom to go to express my appreciation for everyone's support especially you and Scott!

As you might recall, I sent you an email about two weeks ago about not being able to book rack time on Fridays for the month of August and September. You immediately forwarded it to Scott. Scott has been actively trying and able to allocate Friday sessions for me. He is also excellent in following-up and keeping me informed. I had initial logon difficulty last Friday morning and Scott emailed and called me back 5 minutes after I submitted a help request. Excellent support!!

I bought and used the CCIE Routing and Switching Advanced Lab Workbook in 2000 for my lab and was very happy with it. I'm very impressed to see that CCBOOTCAMP has not only kept the quality but moved up a notch!

Thanks so much again!

Just a short note to say thank you for all of the assistance that the two of you have helped me with over the past several months and days. Customer service is what really drives repeat sales and loyalty. Both of you certainly understand the value in the actions that you consistently demonstrated.

Thank you again!!

Class was awesome! One of the best training sessions that I have ever attended (I have been to 70+ in my career). Our instructor was the best. His knowledge level, preparation and patience were well appreciated. I left feeling that I got my money's worth... and then some. In addition, everything was top-notch; from the instructor, the training center, the classroom, the equipment, the hotel and all the directions for food and shopping in the area. I could tell that everything was well thought out and pre-arranged to make the student comfortable.

See you next month!

CCBOOTCAMP was spot on every technology covered. There were no surprises on the lab for the technologies. You have a real gift at breaking down each technology and presenting the technologies in the CCIE Blueprint in a manner that I have seen no where else.

Brad,
I wanted to thank you for the invaluable training that fully prepared me for the CCIE Routing and Switching Lab Exam. After reading the exam, there was literally nothing that surprised me. I was able to methodically develop and execute a plan of attack. This was in sharp contrast to my first two attempts. The CCIE Routing and Switching Lab Boot Camp literally gave me the additional confidence I needed. I think that diving deep into each subject rather than a series of super labs is what sets you apart from the competition.
Thanks again,

I just wanted to let you know that I finally got my number last Friday.
Spending the week in Las Vegas really helped solidify many of the key topics
and ultimately gave me the confidence to trust my own instincts to master
what undoubtedly was one of the most difficult things I have ever done.
Narbik definitely knows his stuff and how to explain it in a way that makes
everything sink in. I would definitely recommend CCBOOTCAMP to anyone
who is seriously preparing for the CCIE lab exam.

Just to let you know I passed my lab last Wednesday in Sydney ( CCIE® #14742 ). I would never passed if I hadn't spent two weeks in Vegas last February. Thanks for all your help and patience the IPv6 training was spot on. I had fantastic time in Vegas and would recommend CCBOOTCAMP (and I do) to others. I hope to return next year sometime to attend the Security labs.

Just got my CCIE number today!!! #14589 A lot of the things we covered in class really helped with my preparation for the lab. The test strategies suggested also helped me a lot. Such as reviewing and checking the results at 2 PM, and then come back and solve the few difficult questions. And the effective utilization of the lunch break to think through the questions. I also run into situations where I had to give up on a couple questions that I knew I had only 80% of chances of getting the points, but may screw up other parts of the config. So I decided to give those points up to preserve the points I am 100% sure.

Just wanted to post that I'd passed the lab. Finally! Whew. I took it on Monday, 8/30/04 in Raleigh, NC. This was my second attempt. I had worked all the NLI labs, as well as one "mock lab", and attended the NLI R&S boot camp in July. All the information from Bill and Marvin was invaluable. Thanks to both of you!

Hi Bill, well, after going through the NLI Boot camp & running through the lab exercises on my own, i finally scaled the CCIE® mountain. I could definitely not have done it without your valuable assistance in the form of suggestions, tips, & the provocative, challenging lab scenarios that really condition one to think outside the box. Besides the technical expertise, your positive, patient & friendly demeanor was an added bonus! I highly recommend this exacting boot camp to anyone striving to not only excel at routing & switching but ensuring those efforts culminate in the light at the end of the tunnel, the much-coveted CCIE® status!!! Thanks again Bill. Thanks also to Brad Ellis for maintaining a quality operation such as Network Learning! :-)

I passed the CCIE® on August 15, 2003 - the second attempt. I would have done it on the first try (July 7, 2003) except for some mistakes I overlooked by overconfidence. Since I was very happy with my preparations, I scheduled the second attempt immediately and passed. I take pride in thanking Network Learning for your Lab R&S Workbook. I used it extensively during the last 1 ½ years for my preparation. I would like to thank William for his valuable posts.

The General R&S Discussion Forum and replies from William helped me a lot to clear the exam.

I passed my Lab Exam on August 13th!! For studying, I used the R&S Lab Subscription with my lab at home, countless number of books, and the DOC CD. On August 9th, I took a Mock Lab from Network Learning and failed. After going over my score and speaking with Bill, I discovered some holes that needed to be filled before sitting for the "Real Lab". I don't think I would have passed the Lab on my first attempt if I hadn't taken the Mock Lab. I want to thank Bill, everyone at Network Learning, and everyone who helped me in the forums.

I received my [Network Learning R&S] Lab Companion Guide about three weeks ago for Labs 1 to 10. Since using the Companion Guide I have learned by leaps and bounds. This product is nothing less than AWESOME. In the last three weeks my learning, relating to high level routing issues, has increased in a huge way. I was thinking that if I could run through my CCNP® Labs that I was in pretty good shape. I started working through the Network Learning Labs and was quickly overwhelmed. I contacted John Kaberna and he suggested the Lab Companion Guide. I tried it, and I love it!! The Guide is not just the solutions, the solutions you already get with your Lab subscription. The Lab Companion is a step-by-step how-to guide that teaches you why and how to get to a solution. It is full of typical "gotchas" to look out for and things to keep an eye on. I am totally impressed with the the Companion Guide and my only complaint is the next volume is not yet ready. Did I say that this product is AWESOME! Many thanks to the writers and all that were involved, this is going to be instrumental to me passing the Lab and understanding the topics for everyday life. Now, let's get the next volume finished!

Hello Marc and Karlynn,

This is Faisal Khan, who attended the R/S boot camp on Jan. 13-17. Remember me. Well I have passed the exam thanks to your help. Thank you so much for holding such boot camp as it was priceless for me on Jan. 20 when I wrote the exam. I missed 1 hour of my exam since they changed the time from 9:00 AM in the morning to 7:30 AM in the morning and I didn't care to notice that on the web site. While I am being in panic mood since I lost 1 hour, my hands were shaking.

However, there are few things that I have learned through the boot camp like test taking strategy, some tips here and there. I passed the exam. It was my 3rd attempt when I passed.

Thank you once again.

'To all CCIE® Candidate!

Had I not taking this boot camp prior to my exam, I probably wouldn't passed. On Jan. 13 - 17, I was in the boot camp taking R/S with Scott Morris. Amazing instructor who not only knows his stuff but was excellent in explaining topics as well as giving tips. With Scott's vest set of knowledge and Marc Russell's amazing lab environment, you will learn things that you can't anywhere else. I was schedule for my exam on Jan. 20, two days after my boot camp. So I knew I don't have much time, with this boot camp, I learnt some amazing and simple test taking strategy that absolutely helped me on Jan. 20 otherwise I was guaranteed to fail. I only had 6.5 hours to write my exam since I missed 1 hour, I follow what Scott taught me in the boot camp, and I made it the next day. Thanks to all of you guys at Network Learning for all the help that you gave me. I will definitely attend the next boot camp (security). Even though this training cost me over $4000 US dollar, but it is definitely priceless even if you can pay via Master Card.'

Hey Marc and Brad and Mr Solie,

Just to thank you for the Network Learning material and also for PSV - both an absolute must.

As you can see I returned from Brussels late last night and received that coveted email this morning. I managed to complete all but one question and had time spare to check my work ! I thoroughly recommend the Network Learning prep kit -If anything IT MAKES YOU THINK ! Albeit the 3rd attempt I have to say to all those " CCIE® is it worth it " posts - ABSOLUTELY -the amazing feeling you get when you receive that email and the look on your wife & daughter's faces says it all.

Many thanks to all the contributors to "www.routerie.com" and best of luck to all the other candidates out there.

I highly recommend the Network Learning boot camp class. It helped me broaden my knowledge and gain the speed needed to achieve a passing score on the Lab Exam. The class environment was intense and 12 hour days were common. The focus was on practice, practice and more practice. Each participant had their own 'pod' of lab equipment complete with ATM and Voice gear (perfect for those unable to afford these 'luxuries' in their home lab). The instructor was quite knowledgeable and did an excellent job covering the wide range of topics. Taking this class will help you hone your skills and pass the CCIE® Lab Exam.

As any CCIE® candidate knows, the more help you can obtain during your quest for this certification the better. I realized this fact early, and ended up contacting Network Learning as a result. Their lab scenarios and technical support are among the best resources available to any potential CCIE® . I highly doubt I would have passed on my first attempt without their labs, and I most certainly would not have achieved success as quickly as I did. A significant reason I decided to go with the lab subscription from Network Learning was from reading testimonials like these. I figured, if all these people with their numbers used Network Learning's labs as a major part of their preparation, how could I go wrong? Believe the hype - you can't go wrong with these labs. To me they were worth every penny.

Marc & Brad,

I have been a R&S subscriber for several years now and had always planned to complete my CCIE® but I never got beyond the preparation stage until the recent economic downturn left me with some extra time on my hands. I was determined to turn a negative into a positive by finally completing the CCIE® Lab. I had the equipment and books to practice on but needed the complex scenarios to help prepare and reduce my apprehension. I turned to Network Learning for assistance. I am happy to report that I did pass last month and your labs played a role in my success, thank you. Keep up the good work and high standards that are key to your continued success.

I just passed in RTP on Thursday the 28th of February. My advice in addition to what has already been said is this, do these labs one time of course, then on the second time you really have to do as many scenarios as possible and get comfortable until you see configs as requirements are being ready for a lab. I finished my initial config at lunch for the test. I reviewed my test for 2 hours exactly. My proctors graded me the same day. My primary material was Network Learning Labs. A great thanks goes to Network Learning, it would have been a much longer road without them.

I recently passed the CCIE® Lab on the third attempt. I would like to thank Network Learning and Brad Ellis, for without them I would not have passed.

Between my 2nd and 3rd attempt I really hit the boot camp Labs hard, and did them until it would only take me a few hours to complete. Dedication and hard work pays off. Read CCO till your eyes bleed, as well as Routing TCP/IP Vol. 1, Halabi, and Caslow.

I'll try and keep this short and sweet, doubtful with my big mouth. Also keep in mind, that this is written based on my experience with the two-day format. Some of it may be obsolete within days.

I passed the R/S Lab last Tuesday in RTP on my first attempt. It was hard, about five times harder than I expected. And I expected it to be pretty difficult. There were 7-8 of us who started Day 1, only two of us even got to go on to Day 2. I was the only one who ended up passing. I didn't blow it out of the water, I made some stupid mistakes that cost me probably about 5-7 points. The proctors, Howard and Rob, were great. No issues at all, very professional, knowledgeable, and relaxed. The facility at RTP is fantastic as well.

So, my recommendations/keys to success:

- Give up any type of social life. Unless you want to drag your preparation out over a year+, which I DO NOT recommend, your life needs to be devoted to studying. I started this whole process in mid-April, reviewing for the Written Exam. So start-to-finish, ~5 months of hardcore preparation. But I work best that way.

- Have a lot of real-world experience. Doesn't mean you have to be a Sr. Backbone Engineer at AT&T or something similar, but you better have built several networks (10+) in your lifetime. I've been working in networking for about 8 years.

- Books: Doyle Vol. I, Cisco® LAN Switching, Halabi, Caslow, Enhanced IP Services, BGP-4 Command Handbook, Hutnik/Satterlee, BSCN, BCRAN. This list could go on forever, but these are the main ones I used.

- Lab TIME!!! I cannot stress this point enough. You have got to become perfect at the "basics." Meaning, you better be able to get 90% of your network running in 50% of the time allotted. Because the other 10% of configuration will take a while. During my R/S Lab preparation, I used Network Learning's Practice Labs - they were invaluable. There is no way I could've passed without them. Simply because they provided a whole other set of networks to configure, in addition to ones I've done in my job(s).

I did each of them five times, so I could become perfect and fast at configuration. Including the Network Learning Labs, I probably had configured 35+ networks going into the Lab Exam. I also took their 5-day boot camp class, which was great. Again, the more hands-on time you have the better. You really can't do too much in this area.

- You must invest in a home Lab, no way around it. Having access to an entire rack of non-Production equipment 24x7 is fantastic and necessary. I rented rack-time with Network Learning for the ATM and 3920 practice. I also worked on Bernard Omrani's 3920 scenario.

- Doc CD. I only used this for one thing, so I would say just be familiar with it. You don't need to read everything on it, give me a break. That would take forever.

Well, I guess that's it. As usual, I rambled a bit too much. I also probably didn't provide too much new information. But I think these little celebratory emails are a good break from studying. At least they always were for me.

Godspeed,
Mike Dongvillo, CCIE® #8187

I'm just writing you to thank you for the Security Lab subscription. Thanks to your labs I was able to pass the CCIE® Security Lab on my first try with flying colors! The Security Lab subscription from Network Learning provides you with challenging scenarios that contain all of the various technologies that will be tested on in the lab, such as AAA, IPsec, CBAC, IDS, PIX Firewall, etc. As many of you know, Network Learning is the first name in practice labs for the CCIE® R&S Exam, the same can be said here. This is definitely a top-notch product, and I fully recommend it to anyone who is preparing for the CCIE® Security Lab Exam.

Hey Marc!

I passed my CCIE® Lab at Brazil this week on my first attempt. I must say that your Labs are an excellent resource for practicing all the topics. I think that the degree of difficulty of your Labs is higher than the Lab itself. I did all the Labs a couple of times and felt very comfortable doing the REAL Lab.

I want to thank you and your staff for not only providing an exceptional product in the Lab exercises, but also in the glowing support I received for the rack rentals. The Practice Labs are unlike any others I've seen or attended, and are a must to run a potential candidate through prior to examination. I found the rack rentals to be extremely helpful, ironing out ATM and ISDN issues, not to mention speeding up my approach to the process.

Marc,

Thanks to your Labs, I just passed the CCIE® R/S Lab in San Jose. It wasn't a walk-away win, but I passed.

Almost everything that tripped me up was in your Labs. Had I done all the Labs repeatedly, instead of just Labs 8 a&b I think I would have passed more easily. I did study all the Labs, but the lack of hand-on practice hurt me.

Overall, I found the problems in your Labs, individually, to be harder than the real thing. In retrospect, however, I found the shear volume of problems in a high pressure situation in an unfamiliar environment, to be the most daunting element. There was no time to do any real checking or debugging.

Again, thanks, I am sure that without your Labs, I would be booking another trip back to San Jose.

I thought I'd let you know I passed and to say thanks for a great product! I didn't purchase the Labs until about 3 weeks out and only made it completely through 10 of them, but the confidence I gained by doing so was what made the difference. After working your Labs with 8-9 routers, 6 routers in the Lab seemed very manageable.

Hi Marc,

Thank you for the services you have provided. The Lab subscription along with a few days of rack time gave me the opportunity to practice the higher end configurations needed for the actual Lab. I took the Lab in San Jose for the first time in January and passed. Compared to all the tasks you require in your 18 Labs, it was fairly simple.

Best wishes, and thanks again for the service.

Hi Marc,

I passed CCIE® Lab Exam at my first attempt on the 4th of December 2000; the secret to succeed in this challenge is to work hardly: in the last five weeks before the Exam I practiced every day (Saturday and Sunday included), even for 12 hours a day going through ALL your practical Labs and I deepened all the themes I had not good feeling with looking for manual pages, hints and practical examples on Cisco® site. I remembered to thanks you for your powerful package of practical Labs when some days ago a friend of mine preparing for the CCIE® Lab Exam asked me for some suggestion: the only answer I could give him was to purchase your material and to go through all the Labs at least once, because if you will be able to face with such a huge amount of work and useful hints, nothing can be "surprising" at the real Lab Exam.

Thank you again!

Marc,

Just a short e-mail to let you know that I passed the CCIE® Routing and Switching Lab Exam in Brussels on Friday Oct 13th, and was awarded CCIE® no. 6306. This was my 3rd attempt at the Lab, having made it to the trouble-shooting section on both my previous attempts (both times with a score of 55 - so I required a perfect score on the trouble-shooting - which I didn't get !). I managed to get a cancellation for my 3rd attempt and this time I concentrated on completing your Practice Labs. Due to the time-scale, I only managed to complete the first 10 Practice Labs and also some scenarios that I remembered from my previous attempts. Your Practice Labs proved to be very challenging and in some areas more difficult than the actual Lab itself. They gave me a thorough understanding of what was required and also helped considerably with increasing my speed during the configuration phases of the actual Lab Exam. This time I went into the trouble-shooting phase with a score of 70 so I had made considerable ground on my previous attempts and only required a score of 10 in the trouble-shooting section. I eventually passed with a score of 85. Your Lab scenarios proved to be invaluable during my preparation and I would recommend them to any future CCIE® candidates.

Thanks again,

Hello Marc,

I am happy to tell you that I passed the CCIE® Exam last week ( Oct 10th ) here in India. This was my second attempt. I had purchased boot camp Labs 1-14. They were very useful especially the OSPF, BGP and ATM Labs. The scenarios in your Labs were quite complex and similar to those that one can expect in the CCIE® Lab Exam. The document on 'troubleshooting' was also useful and I hope you expand that list to include more info. I am sure every CCIE® candidate will find the boot camp Labs useful for preparation and I would recommend them. I also found the information on your Web site such as 'Lab Exam preparation strategy', 'What to expect in the Lab Exam' etc.) was very good and helpful in the CCIE® preparation.

Thanks for all your help.

If you want to pass CCIE® routing and switching test it's going to take practice and more practice. The boot camp Labs give you a look at the material from a different angle. You need this. Marc's Labs are so twisted and off the wall sometimes that they make you think about what is really going on inside the protocol or technology. The Labs made me question things that I have taken for granted for years. They make you dig deeper where you wouldn't think of digging. I struggled with the test for a long time. After purchasing the boot camp Labs and renting some of the ATM gear, I passed on my next attempt.

Thank you Network Learning for providing this service.

It is with great pleasure that I tell everyone on the list that I just became CCIE® #5858 in Brussels this past Wednesday. I also have a novel piece of advice to offer everyone seeking to obtain CCIE® certification in Brussels.

Even though the Lab in Brussels is only about 400 yards from the Holiday Inn at the airport, when you are finished and realize you just passed your Lab, take a cab. I was so lost in the clouds that I was almost run over about three times trying to negotiate the traffic circles during my walk back to the hotel.

But seriously, thank you to everyone out there who helped me in my quest. In the tradition of the list, here are a few details of my road to success:

These are the books I read and recommend in order of preference along with a few comments about how I used them:

#1 Bridges, Routers, and Switches for CCIE® s, Bruce Caslow - Bruce's book provides an overall strategy and synopsis of many key topics. If you master this book, you will be about 60% of the way to success.

#2 Internet Routing Architectures, Sam Halabi - Sam's book provides advance BGP information I simply did not find anywhere else. Don't overlook his paper on the documentation CDs. It can be an invaluable resource during the Lab Exam.

#3 Routing TCP/IP Vol. 1, Jeff Doyle - I did not find too much documentation about ISIS, but Jeff's book helped me out a lot with this protocol. Anytime I had a detailed IP routing protocol question, the answer was in Jeff's book.

#4 All-In-One CCIE® Lab Study Guide, Steven Hutnick - Although this book is by no means an all-in-one guide, it does provide some excellent examples of tertiary topics such as NTP, NAT, HSRP, etc.

One of my top resources was the documentation CD itself. If you want to pass, then you must master the CD and know where to find everything. I would work through it and configure every option at least once. I also read the Catalyst section several times until I understood everything in it. What else helped me?

#1 ECP1, taught by Bruce Caslow at Chesapeake. This class was expensive at $3500, but helped me immensely. I would take it at least two months before your first attempt.

#2 Network Learning - Marc Russell provides two invaluable services. First of all, when I needed time with ATM gear and ISDN, Marc provided that gear for a fair price. I would not have been as comfortable with either of these technologies without the rack time Marc provided. Last, but not least, I purchased Marc's superb Lab scenarios. Bruce Caslow told us in ECP1 that the most difficult aspect of preparing for the Lab was finding excellent Practice Lab scenarios.

Marc's Labs were well worth the $650 and provided this key resource.

Finally, I do not believe you can pass without access to a router Lab of at least six routers including a terminal server, Catalyst 5000, and ISDN simulator. You can learn enough VOIP and ATM without having the equipment by renting some rack time from Marc, but you really need the rest of this equipment to have a good chance.

David Wolsefer, CCIE® #5858

I just wanted to let everyone know about my positive experience with Marc Russell and Network Learning. I needed some practice with various ISDN backup scenarios and don't have a switch in my Lab, so I called Marc and asked to rent rack 2 for a day. The rack was not in production yet, but Mark worked with me anyways and offered high quality gear at a fair price. No, I don't work with or even know Mark, I am just a happy paying customer, and he is the only one I know who offers ATM gear and a Cat5K at reasonable rates.

Highly recommended!

Guys,

I am so glad that it's my turn to post this Thank You note! For the people who still pursuing your CCIE® number, you're in the right place. I have to say this is THE best CCIE® study group in the whole world.

Many CCIE®s have posted valuable suggestion on how to prepare for the Lab Exam in the past, I have a few things to add:

* Archive scenarios - do it yourself Without seeing the answers responded from other people, try to simulate the question in your Lab and find out the solution.

This is a good way to build your confidence!

* CD lookup - how fast can you find it. Locate a topic without using Search. One important note, you may need to lookup among 11.2, 11.3 and 12.0

* Network Learning - an excellent resource for Lab scenarios and equipment rental. Marc's Lab 1-14 includes multi-protocol scenarios, hint, and complete solution...it worth every penny.

Finally, the best part of this group is there's always someone will (or try to) answer your question. Big thanks to these great guys who\par have answered my questions - J. Wu, J Weinstein, A. Mosley, C. Steward, P. Willemsen, A Dean, Jan + Eric, H Rahmlow, D Brown, etc.

Marc,

I passed my Lab on my first attempt. Buying all the Labs and renting ATM rack was most definitely one of the best investments I have ever made. I will like to thank you for the superb Labs you have put together. I did every single Lab and did it many times. I found that all the Labs were designed to aggressively enhance the skills required to design as well as troubleshoot various network protocols and legacy connectivity. I timed myself every time I attempted the Network Learning Labs until I was comfortable with my speed and accuracy. Best of all, your Labs forced me to focus and challenge myself with the estimated completion times provided at each step. I had tried other Lab scenarios sold on eBay etc. but none provided the degree of difficulty you can expect at real CCIE® Lab. Look forward to VOIP and Dial CCIE® Labs in the near future.

Hello All,

I am new to the list and have my first Lab attempt on January 31 at RTP. I have been practicing a lot and have found something that has tremendously helped my studying that I wish to tell you about.

I have purchased at set of 12 multi-protocol CCIE® style Practice Exams from http://www.ccbootcamp.com. The Labs include everything from BGP confederations to ATM LANE.

The cost was $650 and has well been worth it. If you don't have Lab equipment to practice on you can't rent time on their Lab equipment and access it over the internet. Going through these Labs has forced me to learn topics I didn't think I would need to know and has helped me improve my speed.

Lab number 8 is a very-difficult multi-protocol Lab that takes about 24 hours of time to complete. Many have labeled it as the best benchmark for CCIE® success. I am in no way affiliated with the company that makes these Labs. If this practice tool can help you as much as much as it has helped me than I feel it is my duty to tell you about it.

Good Luck to all of you taking the test soon!

Marc,

This week I passed the CCIE® Lab Exam on my first try! In reflecting back on what made my efforts result in success, without a doubt, the Labs from Network Learning top the list. The Labs were a central part of my studying in the few months before my Exam. When taking the Exam, on almost every question I was able to draw on experiences and lessons while studying with the Labs.

Using the Labs was an excellent tool for test preparation. I was able to do the Labs over and over again, and still after every time learn something new. When I repeated the Lab exercises, I would add more complexity each time I did them. And, I would time my myself to make sure I was doing the Labs faster and faster even with the extra complexity. The greatest advantage I had in the actual Exam was SPEED. I finished day 1 three hours early.

Thank you, Network Learning Inc., for an outstanding product!!

This was my second attempt and the Exam has gotten much harder than my first in October. Your Lab 8 was instrumental in my passing. On both attempts, I spent two weeks prior to the Exam building, breaking down, and rebuilding your Lab which contains 9 routers. This made the real Lab of 6 routers seem a little more manageable. Thanks for all your help!

Cheryl Richardson, CCIE® #5524

I just wanted to let you know that I passed my Lab Exam on Monday and Tuesday. In retrospect, Lab 8 was a really good prep. I can't say more than that, of course, but I did get a lot faster working with your Lab than I had been before, to the point that I finished day 1 at 2:44pm. I got to chat with the proctor, triple-check my solutions, and so on. I mentioned your service on groupstudy.com too, so I hope that helps to bring you business.

Thanks for everything, and happy holidays.

Thanks for setting up ccBootcamp.com. It is an important part of my study program. It helps me to familiarize with all the "potential" problems that might appear in the actual Labs. This makes me very fast in setting up the entire configuration and I managed to finish day 1 so much earlier than expected.

This is my 2nd attempt. During my first attempt, I managed to squeeze through to the troubleshooting section. But didn't manage to get enough points to pass. However, the same thing happened. I did very well for day 1 as well.

All in all, I practiced the Lab 4 times. Adding more and more things into the Lab to complicate the scenarios each time. I must admit that it is really not easy to set up good scenarios to test yourself. Marc did a great job !! I have seen other Virtual Labs. But I'll give Network Learning the best in term of overall coverage.

Once again, thanks a lot and I look forward to seeing more quality Labs from Network Learning. Am waiting for CCIE® ISP Dial Labs to be out. :)

Simply the BEST. Marc's Lab scenarios give you comprehensive coverage of most of the elements on the Lab test, and will definitely strengthen your skills. I personally used it after extensive book reading and was able to pass the CCIE® Lab on my first try with a very high score. If you can use them creatively, Marc's Labs also provide you a very good base setup. On my second round of trying these Labs, I put more stuff on the top of them, i.e., some complex multihomed bgp/ospf DDR scenarios from Halabi. Doyle's books, and that really gave me the maximum workout. I also found Marc was very responsive for my questions, and very reasonable to my requests. Overall, it's a wise investment.

At my first attempt of the CCIE® R/S Lab I thought I had prepared very carefully, but when I went back for day 2, I found out differently. I realized that I had studied a lot of topics that were already my "strong points". I had a very difficult time finding challenging Labs that covered topics that I was unfamiliar with. When I purchased Network Learning's full package of Labs I realized that almost every topic that could potentially be seen on the Lab was covered. These were great, in-depth Labs that I could not have found anywhere else. After practicing with Marc's Labs for a few months I reattempted the CCIE® Lab, and without a doubt, was much more prepared than my first attempt. I'm looking forward to Network Learning releasing a CCIE® ISP-DIAL Practice Lab to help assist me with my next challenge!

Definitely the best complex multi-protocol Practice Lab scenarios that I have found on the market. Complex configurations where you are assigned to build the network from layer one up, using at least 5 (sometimes up to 9) routers, which in the end could be running IP(RIP,OSPF,EIGRP,BGP), IPX(RIP/SAP,EIGRP,NLSP), Apple, DEC, you name it, as well as bridging/DLSW, route filtering/summarization/redistribution, all running on different levels of complex frame-relay configurations, and on and on and on. Pair these Practice Labs with Caslows book, and you should have a good shot.

Just a quick note to thank you for your help on Lab #8. After doing Labs 1-7 on my own equipment I was apprehensive about accessing distant equipment to try and complete Lab #8. I found the access easy and uninterrupted, all the equipment worked flawlessly, and everything set up correctly in advance. I also appreciate your prompt callback and expert assistance when I had questions about the configuration. I think you are providing an excellent service at a very reasonable price to anyone seriously seeking CCIE® certification. A note of thanks is also in order here for the excellent, challenging content of your Practice Labs. They really fine tuned my router configuration skills and helped tremendously with my speed. Your Practice Labs were one of the integral parts of the my CCIE® preparation and I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking CCIE® or just trying to improve their skills. Last week I passed the CCIE® Lab Exam, on my first attempt, and the Network Learning Labs 1-10 were an invaluable resource for my study. It is very difficult to create complex scenarios to test yourself, and Marc has done a brilliant job in researching various "gotchas" and "tricks" to keep you on your toes. None of the Exams were as straight forward as they seemed on the first reading, which is exactly the case with the real Lab Exam also. Lab 8 especially included some extremely complex scenarios, and I learned a lot from this Lab including some configurations that I had never found properly documented.

I bought the Labs and used my own equipment to implement them which worked well, although for anyone without access to a large Lab I feel sure the virtual Lab that Marc provides would be great hands-on experience. This is especially the case now that Marc offers ATM equipment and this can be difficult to get your hands on otherwise.

This was by far the best value-for-money training resource I obtained during my study, although don't forget it complements your reading, and hours and hours of time in the Lab, but does not replace them.

Cheers and keep up the good work.

I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the Labs that you have put together. The Labs I bought from you helped me to prepare for the CCIE® Lab Exam which I passed the other day. I was able to pass on my first attempt with a score of 91. I am psyched! I found that your Labs were very challenging and helped me be well prepared for the Lab experience. The scenarios tested all the major areas that Cisco® is looking for. Without good Lab scenarios, I think it would be very difficult, if not impossible, to be ready for the CCIE® Lab. It is great to see that you are updating the Labs as new materials are added to the Lab Exam. They are well worth the price if they can help you pass the first time.

Scott Harris was right! Your Labs are the best way to study for the Lab Exam. I am going to be recommending your Labs to lots of people I know who are getting ready to start on their CCIE® journey.

Thanks for your help with the Lab when the gear was about to burn up. :) I successfully completed my CCIE® shortly after my last Bootcamp session. By making use of Network Learning's remote Lab, I was able to replicate the practical Exam environment very closely; I worked on Lab 8 over what was basically a 24 period (w/o stopping) to simulate the real Exam and become very quick at building configurations. This was important in allowing me sufficient time to complete all the Exam tasks. Additionally it was beneficial to have access to equipment found on the Exam but would not be readily available otherwise. Thanks again.

You must read the required books and have access to the required equipment. But that's not enough. At least it wasn't for me. You need to have complicated scenarios from which you can learn and upon which you can expand. I found that the 8-Lab package I purchased from Network Learning was the single biggest help during my CCIE® Lab preparation. I thought that there were some aspects of the Network Learning Labs that were even more complicated than the actual CCIE® Labs. I didn't pass on my first try, but I did pass on the second. I recommend these Labs to any serious CCIE® candidate.

I recently passed the CCIE® Lab on my first try and believe that the Network Learning Labs were an invaluable tool that helped me to be successful. I purchased Labs 1-8 from Marc and found that all Lab scenarios and solutions were carefully documented. I did not find a single solution configuration that I felt was "incorrect." These Labs were my primary tool for practicing, and I feel they provided a very realistic/representative sample of what I found on the Lab. As far as the cost, I believe purchasing the Labs saved me quite a bit of money since I did not have to take the CCIE® Lab a second time.

Some of the Labs got a little convoluted, but each scenario had some sort of learning point. So, that was okay. In fact, I would say that the scenarios in the actual CCIE® Lab were not quite as complicated as some of the ones presented in the Network Learning Labs.

There are currently two other web sites available that provide similar services: Virtualrack.com & Mentorlabs.com. I have also purchased Labs from these sites. Virtualrack.com currently has shabby/sloppy quality control and I do not recommend their Written Lab scenarios. However, they do have good rental rates on equipment. Mentorlabs.com has a very professional website. However, they are extremely expensive and I don't think a good value for the dollars spent. The Network Learning Labs stand out as the clear winner.

I passed on my first time!!! I just wanted to drop you a line and thank you for the effort you put into your Labs. They were an integral part of my study plan. I was able to finish 90% of the first day by lunch time. Doing your Labs a few times really improved my speed. They were long Labs, just like the real thing, and their complexity were right on target. From my studies, I felt like I had seen everything at least once. Great work, I am going to continue to use these Labs and future Labs to keep my skills current and to make sure I don't get rusty. The CCIE® is only the beginning, not the end!!!

Thanks again,

Route/Switch Lab: The scenarios in these Labs provide an insightful workout for any CCIE® candidate, and can definitely help achieve the thorough understanding and hands-on skill required to attain CCIE® certification. I have seen a variety of Practice Labs, but I believe these are currently the most comprehensive and on-target, and the only ones I know that include hints and full router configurations with each Lab.

Hi,

Thank god, I passed CCIE® Lab test on my first try at San Jose. ;-)

A lot of people already post how to prepare Lab test, I'll just give my experience:

1. Network Learning is THE BEST preparation tools I use for the Lab test. Without it, I don't think I can pass the test. I also buy their remote access for 2 days to practice ATM and VOIP. I found their service extremely good. Marc was there help me until 3:30am one night. Thanks Marc!!!
2. this study group. A lot of people in this group are extremely knowledge and nice, without your help, I can't pass. Thank you all.
Now I need to take a break ;-)
Good luck to ya all.

Marc,

I just passed the Lab Friday and I wanted to thank you for your scenarios. I took it twice, but the first time I made it to the second day and was a couple of points short to go to the Lab. I did not read the questions very well neither asked enough questions. This time I've learnt my lesson and succeeded. I would not have been able to make it to the second day on my first attempt and/or to pass this time without your scenarios. I found myself really well prepared for the test. I strongly recommend your scenarios to anyone willing to pass the Lab.

I just wanted to let anyone that is considering buying equipment from Network Learning know of the good experiences that I have had with Network Learning! I am currently studying for my Lab on September 7th of 2002, and feel that I will have a good chance at passing (you have to have high hopes)! I have currently bought all my equipment for my Lab from Brad Ellis and Network Learning and feel that I have received a better deal than anyone could ever give me on eBay. Here is what makes the difference in going with Network Learning over eBay and just some online cert money mongers: Customer Service. While half of my shipment was in route to me, I had to make a change from getting some interfaces for 2610s and restructuring my complete order and the method of payment! To date, I have bought the following Cisco® equipment from Network Learning and I must say for used equipment it is all in very excellent shape: 2522, 2 x 2503s, 2511, 2513, 2502, all my cables, a new SimLine2 ISDN simulator GOOD BUY, 2 x MAUS. With the equipment recommendations that I have received from Network Learning I have been able sharpen old skills and learn many of the new skills that I feel I will need on the Lab Exam and in the work place.
